Today I met the national basketball team of Sardinia, Dinamo Sassari! These were the two American players, who I had a nice conversation with and were kind enough to take a picture with me and two of my class friends. (:

As the time passes and the season change so does my experience as an exchange student. As some of you know two weeks ago I have changed host families. I moved from the small suburb of Pirri to the city center. As I packed my bags and said goodbye to two of the most important people in my exchange Gabriella (my first host mom) and Martina (my host sister), I prepared for a new adventure. Now I am living with Pietro (my host fater), Kirsten (my host mom) Gaia (my host sister) and Sinis (my host dog). Kirsten is a nurse and Pietro is a journalist. Kirsten is an American from New York City, and Pietro was born here is Sardinia. They are crazy family who love to have a good time, they love their friends and they love to be at the beach to surf or swim. Gabriella and Martina will always be my Italian Family, they are the people who picked me up at the airport my first day, taught me the language, how to navigate the city. Without them I wouldn’t have a successful exchange. Since my move, I have seen them twice, once for lunch, and once to go see “Happy Days” at a theatre here in Cagliari. All is well with my new host family, and my exchange. My real parents will be here to visit me March 6th!
Bastione Saint Remy, one of the oldest photos of such an important landmark here in Cagliari and a picture of the same place now at christmas time (:

i find this necessary (:
-i showed my host sister the trailer, and when this part came on, as soon as she saw the word ‘fraglie’ she say hey thats italian!

This is the beautiful thanksgiving dinner that Nola and I cooked, and by Nola and I mean she mashed the potatoes (: Never having cooked anything more than mac and cheese or oodle noodles this was a challenge, but I wanted the perfect classic American thanksgiving complete with our 13 pound turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, gravy and an apple pie to finish the meal off the night was a complete success.

This is the beautiful day out, those are the clouds covering the mountains. It looks quaint but it’s really surrounded by city.
